This 2 day short course introduces the fundamental concepts necessary for surveying using the Global Positioning System and showcases the latest in GPS technology. The topics covered include:

- GPS observables
- Errors affecting measurements
- Positioning modes & concepts
- Coordinate transformations

Practical aspects:
- Survey planning and network design
- RTK and static control surveying
- Accuracy & cost considerations
- Hands-on GPS baseline processing
- GPSnet, SMES and AUSPOS
